1872 Shoninger Grand Eureka

1 manual organ. With cover closed it looks like a desk. This solid black walnut Victorian organ has a Greek Renaissance mantel, "swing out" candle holders, and wood fretwork which is a music stand when pulled out.
On the left and right side in front there is a storage cavity for sheet music.

Metal plate on front of organ says:
Design of Case Patented October 22, 1867.

Company history:

Factory in Woodbridge, CT 1850-65, burned in 1865 and Shoninger bought the Treat & Linsley's factory in New Haven, CT. Bernard Shoninger was still president in 1887, and his son Simon B. secretary. The company was renamed B. Shoninger Organ & Piano Co.
